Its not mind blowingly different from the mk4, which I have. Think I'll let this version pass me by and wait on the mk6 which will probably be out 5 years later :D

Some more spy shots I haven't seen before, very curious of the headlights after having seen the picture with the high beams on.'

Looks that way. I cannot love the FL2. I've poached a few parts off it, but don't like the front end, or the tailgate (I have FL tailgate). I went to have a look at the AllTrack. It is (apart from the DSG and the rear parcel shelf) a downgrade in almost every way from the Cross. And costs 30% more too! The new one looks (so far) like the ugly child of Caddy and Transit cross-breeding (which I guess, technically, it is).

Looking forward to seeing one in the flesh when it’s released but the initial pics aren’t doing it for me at the moment.

I cannot make out where they have put the filler cap on these spy shots. Are these full electric models or is the filler now under the bonnet VW badge?

So sounds to me the MK4 will be the last true caddy, I don't want a ford/VW bodged together love child of a van!

New caddy ???

Post by dan@biali »

All the reports I’ve read state that VW are designing and building the Caddy and I believe also the Connect so really it will be more a VW than a Ford - VW platform and engines with only a few body panels different between them.

I thought it was the Crafter and the Transit that were being designed and built by Ford.

According to the vw dealers it’s only the transporter that wil actually be a vw, but fingers crossed it is a vw not a ford

It is not, VW and Ford will cooperate with commercial vehicles, the next generation Caddy will be designed and built on VW's MQB platform. Next generation Ford Transit Connect will most likely be based on the Caddy, but that's not until a couple years.

VW will start in 2021 and Ford will follow in 2023 if I remember it correctly, read it somewhere.
