Hi lad have a 13 dayy 1.6tdi bluemotion 75bhp
Been nothing but problems from day one
Latest is some sort of electrical issue, basically since I bought it that start stop has never worked and there seems to always have been something draining the battery.
Recently bought a new stop start battery. Left the van running one night in the drive to heat up came out 20 mins later to find it had turned off.
Had to jump it but she died once I turned lights on.
On inspection it appeared alternator is not charging battery. If + battery took off van cuts out and when it's running there is only 12.05v on terminals.
Swaped out alternator for a scrap one turned her over but it appears to still be running off battery
All fuses seem to be fine anyone an idea of where to check next
Alternator

Re: Alternator
The alternator has a "DFM" wire from the ECU to monitor/control the output. It may be worth checking that back to position T94/46 at the ECU. (That's position 46 on the 94 terminal plug)
If that ok, you might have a problem with the stop/start controller, might be worthwhile checking for fault codes and actual values from that while the engine is running.

Re: Alternator
Thanks doc will check that tomorrow.
If that's the small wire which plugs into side of alternator. The plug was damaged so cut it off and have the wire connected to the left pin where it appears it was.

Re: Alternator
Update: seems to be ok now left it running for a bit Voltage on battery is gone up now when running. hovering between 13.5-.6 still not sure it's 100% will keep an eye on it over Xmas. Only thing if engine is running and I disconnect battery it starts to struggle to keep running

Re: Alternator
You should never ever disconnect the vehicle battery while the engine is running, this can cause extremely high voltages to come off the alternator as it won't have it's main voltage regulator in circuit.
