2015 gtd engine swap

Post by Cv caddy »

Hi all,

I am new to the forum. I have a 2014 1.6tdi dsg, I love my van and don’t want to get rid of it. But the ulez charge being extended out may force me to do so unless I can find a way around it.

My question is has anyone done a gtd conversion?
If I was to buy a donor car is there a lot of modification involved?

Any help will be a great help.

Hi, welcome to the forum.
The mk7 GTD may not be the best donor as there will be some conflicts in generations of the modules in your caddy and those in the GTD. Your best bet would be to source an engine from a car which is based on the same generation technology as your caddy to air integration.

Thank you makes sense
But would it be possible if I changed all the wiring loom and ecu’s
Would the engine and gearbox be a straight fit
