Cleaning up the rear window

Post by Josh764 » Mon Feb 10, 2020 3:08 pm

Sorry for starting a thread that's been covered before, I couldn't find the old thread Image iv blanked off my rear wiper but now I think the glass looks rubbish. I'd like it plain black but still able to see though it hopefully to stop it been broken into..

What have people used? Is it a glass replacement job or just a case of a tint film?
Thank josh ImageImage

We had ours tinted, we removed the factory black non see through film and had it tinted.

After seeing the tinted glass for sale though, at just over £100 for both pieces, I wish we’d of bought that and had that fitted. We have had tinted factory windows fitted in the side and they are perfect.

@r1lea that's exactly how I'd like mine to look,, your van looks insane
Did you buy genuine glass? Iv just had a quick look and can't seem to find any.

There aftermarket mate
I bought a pair of tinted ones off eBay then added a further tint film on the inside to get the black look
Tinting the darker glass doesn’t show the dot matrix round the edges, just looks all black but can still see out

@r1lea such a nice looking van, wish we’d used the tinted glass instead.

@rlea that looks so clean!
I was just going to tint the normal windows a limo black. Having second thoughts now after seeing how good that looks.
Anyone got photos of the standard glass tinted?

Cleaning up the rear window

With tinted Film you can still see the dot matrix round the edges and the heater lines

Example pic

Which is why I chose to change the glass
Only paid £100 for both
