I don't think anybody on this forum running them bodged up like that, better to do it properly. Once you get an access, there are multiple threads covering heated set retrofit in the technical section of the forum. It's a pretty much straight forward job.

Sounds good mate, wasn’t sure if it was easy to retrofit, I know that my way sounds bodged but I’m an engineer and I’m my head that just seemed a simple solution if it was difficult to retrofit. Yea I need access to all the how to’s lol

As an engineer, you can hack the system if you know the consequences
There is more than just +12V, from factory there is a temperature feedback for control module. Otherwise you risk of burning out the heating element.

Yes I could I know my way around a Ford using forscan including the clocks but it’s not worth the risk to mess with them IMO. but new to VAG so just don’t know what can be done or what needs to be done for certain things but once I get the full access to the forum it will be mods away! Warranty friendly ones for now

Stan the man can make you a loom mate. If your standard seats didn’t have airbags, I wouldn’t worry about wiring up the ones in the Rocco seats.

Just fitted the same in my van, and yes to get them all wired up is not going to be easy, need a heated seat controller with heated windscreen. phoned vw £427 plus vat.

This has been super helpful to read through, thanks guys. I’m looking at fitting scirocco seats too, glad to see they look amazing. I don’t have a Caddy yet, will be downsizing from my T4 v soon.
Would one of you legends take some photos of the chairs pushed and leant all the way forward? I’m trying to figure out bed spacing (SWB) and mounting a surfboard inside the van, rest on dash, chair and then hanging from ceiling in the rear. The quick release handles on top of the chairs look like they make that process far easier…
Sorry if this makes no sense and/or this is the wrong thread. Ta!

Re: 2009 scirocco seats on a 2005 touran base
I came here to see about wiring on the Passat seats but thought I’d be helpful while I was at it, here is my Passat seats on Touran bases as far forward as I can get them, measured off the meeting point of the windscreen dash, this is on a caddy maxi life 2013 but I’d guess the front end is the same as a swb?davidwren wrote:This has been super helpful to read through, thanks guys.
