Hi I'm based in the south downs of sussex and about to put a deposit down on a ex gas caddy 1.6 maxi , 13 plate , 75 on the clock, would it be acceptable to ask the the water pump and timing belt are changed before final collection or is the mileage ok for a few more thousand , I see some say every 4 years some say at 75 thousand and other 140 thousand ! Any help appreciated

Hi. I would recommend finding out when it was last done and finding out from VW what the recommendation is, take it from there. At that mileage, it should have already been done I think. My ex BG had 53000 and had had it's done already. Cheers

Thank you, I agreed on the sale on the basis that the belt and pump was replaced so all good , pick it up next weekend
