Mk4 rear light coding

Post by scrimmy »

Hello all,

I'm looking for some information on how to code my mk4 rear lights, I have a working version of Vag Can Pro I believe this is the programme i need to code in the extra light bar and remove the warning for the missing reverse light.

I'm not allowed in the 'technical section' yet so thought i'd see if anyone was willing to help.

Cheers.

You're probably best waiting until you have access to the technical section of the forum.
If someone were to copy and paste the how-to into the chat forum that would completely defeat the purpose of the access levels on the forum.

Fair play, it took me a lot lot longer than 4 hours to work out the coding.
You must have some advanced knowledge.

That said, I've seen a "Caddy specialist retrofitter" who quotes it's not possible and fits resistors.

I used to be a saab 'master tech' many years ago so i still know my way round car electronics, once I'd found the right section in vag pro it wasn't too bad I'd picked up bits and bobs from Google research just not a definite step by step guide.

Just need to check I've got the brightness right as believe or not the sun was out out today and it was hard to see I'd got them the same as the other lights!

Getting my heated seats working will be the next project... Got the lumbar supports going that was the easy bit though

I need to code my lights too, just fitted them yesterday. I'm sure it's not that hard just need to dig deep, I used to have the Commodore 64 for Christ sake, that was some level of coding🤣

Hahaha. I did some ahem coding(copying from a magazine) for my old speccy. Was a sound to light program. Still didn't pass my computer studies exam. Got ungraded haha
The amiga was easier. Did loads of rave tracks on that
