Upgrade steering wheel - DSG Paddles

Post by petrev »

I have just got a Polo multifunction wheel with DSG paddles.

According to reading stuff hereabouts it should be a direct swap - But - It has different Cruise Control buttons on the left.
When people write that you should change the buttons, I take it that the different buttons actually function differently, not that they just have the correct legend on the caps !
Can I just use the buttons as-is, missing the Mode Button and with a redundant ACC-Distance button?

Advice gratefully received,
Pete

It's hard to guess what's you current setup, etc., but have a good read here, it may answer your questions.

Thanks again.
That is perfect info, just where you pointed me.
👍

Will have to code out speed limiter apparently and then all should be good ... Fingers crossed.

UPDATE :

If you don't have ACC then an ACC wheel is not much use - Lots of work / Money to change it to be correct (new buttons, a module, or soldering and modifying old buttons !!! required)

Ah well - worth a punt .
