Clutch advise needed!

Post by Danhall1991 »

Hi guys right im sure this has probably been discussed a million times but....
Clutch and dual mass are up for renewal on mine vibrating on take off, it had a diesel leak from the pump above the bellhousing i think its taken its toll on the clutch ( new pump now fitted) so my question is would it be worth converting her to smf? Apart from the financial aspect of the kits being alot cheaper are there any advantages or any flaws with doing this? Does anyone have them fitted currently or experienced any problems whilst running one? Mines a bog standard 1.9 tdi 104bhp no power upgrades any advise would be greatly appreciated thank you :D

A SMF is a lot more reliable yeah, but it will also make your engine sound very noisy.

I'd just go for a luk or sachs dmf complete kit, do it once and forget about it. Yeah may cost a little more but wont be any problems
