Hampshire Caddy

Post by the swan fiend »

It’s easy to get carried away with mods, I totally agree. I try do a few a year, but even that runs into quite a bit of money.
On the other hand though, if you did all you wanted to do in a month or two, that’d be no fun!
I’ve still got quite a bit to do to mine, but it’s a slow burner!!
What needs doing with the bodywork mate?

Got a scuff and a couple of scratches behind rear sliding door, rear bumper needs a respray, front looks like it has had a small bump so has crazed badly on one corner plus stone chips on bonnet.

Ahh yeah there’s a bit of money in putting that right.
Mine has some dodgy paintwork on the offside wing, it also had a crap repair done on the rear offside too, but I had that fixed when I left the handbrake off a while back.
My bonnet needs a respray too, you can still see where the British Gas stickers where!

I’m sort of hoping someone runs into me in the appropriate places and I claim off their insurance :D

Or find old bumpers and have a go spraying them myself for starters

That’s would save you a few quid. Just a minor bump though, no 70mph jobs!!
You could have a practice yeah, I’d imagine by the time you’ve bought bits to practice on, plus tools, it’s be easier to put it in a garage.

That’s true, also the hassle of loosing your cool and removing them with the biggest hammer you’ve got.

Actually, I changed my front bumper as I hit an object on the motorway, it was easy enough to do, even for me!

Thanks, changed what I do in every way but life is great, I’m a very happy bunny with my Caddy and my Mrs, or should that be the other way round :)

A busy day for me.
Painted the last of the trims I’d taken off and all the clips, dyed the nets that fit on the trims above the rear windows.
Drilled the holes and fitted all the rivnuts for the headlining.
Refitted all the trims.
Added more tape to the drivers wing mirror as one layer reduced the noise but didn’t get rid of it.

Jobs for Wednesday, remove trims around sliding door windows and spray them, remove and spray the seat belt trims, drill fitting holes in light board.

Don’t want to fit the headlining and light board until the switch panel arrives (Friday hopefully) so I can make sure it all works.

Grab handles should be here Friday too, grab strap rubber won’t be here until next week sadly.
