Water in caddy footwell

Post by J_Con » Wed Mar 11, 2020 6:11 pm

Noticed water on my passenger side mat a couple of weeks ago n assumed my partner had left the window open but on going in to the Caddy today appears to be the same. No obvious signs of where it came from as I had a quick look before work but just wondering if anyone else has had this?

Have you got wind deflectors fitted? I occasionally notice the odd drip through my window as the seal isn’t quite as tight. I’d look around the seals first mate

I’ve had the same thing once or twice but I currently don’t have deflectors on. So interested in any info myself

On closer inspection of your picture, it looks like the entry point is just underneath your door speaker. Maybe start there and see where it takes you. There are little drain holes in the bottom of the doors, could be that even, though it should drain out, not in obviously.

Had this first day of owning my caddy in the drivers footwell. They had replaced the bonnet release cable and catch at the garage before I picked it up, they hadn’t fitted the door rubber properly. Worth giving it a tickle with a mallet all the way round, fixed mine.

Woke up today to find more water in the footwell and it had worked its way under my mat aswell.. I've put an air line in the drainage holes in the door but seemed to be fine also blew out the drainage holes under bonnet.

Found that the seal around the door had water in it so checked the driver side and it was dry.

Is the door threshold and seal easy to remove and get back on? ImageImage
