DAB upgrade

Hi guys,

Looking to upgrade the standard stereo to a dab head unit for multiple reasons! Any recommendations on almost straight swaps?

My rns 315 took minutes to swap. And maybe half hour to fit the dab aerial, only cause the trim was nightmare to get back on

This is something that I'm looking at, I'm not really upto speed on head units and didn't know where to start, but I've looked up the rns 315 unit, and I like the look of it, so what is needed to fit it?? I've got a 2013 van, it has a type of Ariel in the passenger wing mirror, and the one in the screen, I'm assuming one is FM and the other one is DAB???

I just got a gps reciever and a dab aerial. Stuck the gps behind the dash and dab top left of window screen.
If you already have dab aerial though then just gps

can this headunit be fitted into my 2008 caddy?
The standard fm/am one I have is absolutely crap.

I would say yes as I have one in my 2008 golf , as well as your gps the mic is different than the usual , it’s a connection that fits in the main loom plug in the back of the stereo .

Is the dab Ariel the one in the passenger door mirror???

Looked into this and saw how much they are, I think I will go aftermarket instead.

Managed to get one of these, and fitted it to the van, I've not got a dab Ariel in the van as far as I can see, as I understand it , it's in the driver side mirror??? I could be wrong tho I will sort that later, fitted the GPS under the dash on the passenger side seams to work ok, checked on VCDS and there's a fault saying that the nav is not registered?? Do I need to code anything in for the nav anybody know???

Mine always comes up with that but it’s worked fine for 2 years , really should see if an updated is due and how to do it

Have anyone tried the 2-din android players from Ebay and Aliexpress with DAB. They looks good value for money compared to what you get in stores here in Norway.

I have a rns 315, great head unit. Can anyone advise how to get the dab working, where to get ariel and fitting etc.
