Hi guys n girls hope all is doing well and all is safe during this sad time

I managed to dig out some old mk5 gti brakes from my mates garage the other day just giving them a good clean today as we are on lockdown I was wondering what would be needed to install these to my mk4 caddy

Also done stage 2 of the soundproofing on the van still got so much to do ImageImage

I think they are a direct fit jay.
If you are going for a bigger front brake disc ie 312mm I believe you need to have the correct Caliper carrier to a commendate the larger disc. If you are increasing the size of the rear discs too you will need slightly longer HEL brake hoses.
This is what I have taken from the few hours I spent reading up on this on this very forum by previous owners.
Like you I’m in the process of revamping a set of Octavia vrs brake calipers to do on my mk3 caddy. Will go 312mm on the front and keep the rear discs the standard size.
Hope this made this abit clearer but I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will respond if I have missed anything out mate.

Simple way to fit those is to just put on the discs and carriers, the calipers are the same just not red. If you're ok with bleeding brakes then swapping the calipers will be simple. Just make sure you're fitting some that are decent condition and not busted seals/bellows.
