New head unit

Post by Enduro_mtb_uk »

Hi, had a head unit installed the other day. It was taken out another caddy and worked in the old one perfect as did the original one in my van. The wires had been cut on both the head unit and my van so have all been connected up. Everything works as it should but I just have no audio what so ever. Is there something we are missing or could the new radio have been damaged when removed. Thanks

Did the radio ask for a code?

Replying in this thread to save starting another one.

Does anyone know of a way of finding the code from a head unit that is currently fitted?

I want to sell it on, but don't have the code written down anywhere.

If you call the supplying dealer who's details should be on the PDI section of the service book, they should give you the code free of charge.

Working in a main dealers for years, it’s not a common practice for the last while to record the PIN numbers.

If you give a dealer a call and get a friendly service advisor and give them a VIN and the radio serial number they might ask a tech to get it for you.

Mostly it’s only the techs that have access to the radio code section of ELSA.
