I am about to get a new maxi 1.6 102ps however been looking into getting a remap done, however few questions on this,:
will it damage the engine
Is MPG effected
Will it cause issues with emissions come MOT time etc.
Where in Scotland would be the best place to get this done assuming its not going to cause issue.

I used Falkland Performance in Glenrothes for my remap on my scirocco and went for the revo remap.

Mpg improved greatly and never caused any issues with mots or emissions

simple answer to pretty much all your questions is no, if you get a profesionally installed re-map on any vehicle, stand alone re-map will be undetectable, other than if you or someone was to drive the vehicle then obviously performance should be better than standard, BUT, this is dependable on a couple of factors, is your vehicle running correctly to start with?, is it a generic map or a custom map?, whos doing the mapping? all these factors etc. make up the difrence between you actually seeing the difrence, and as for mpg, well realiatically this will be better because the engine will be fuelled better, however this is a double edge sword, and more performance equals you having a heavier foot, do your research work out whos got a good reputation, then make your choice, worth also looking at what else can be tweaked whilst having your map, ie egr valve operation, dpf regeneration etc. again, research my friend

I'm reporting in after having my 1.6 TDI (CAYD) 102bhp remapped by https://dynatune.co.uk/ who are based in East Kilbride.

I was looking for something which made the van more responsive throughout the rev range without sacrificing driveability or reliability. The standard tune has a relatively short power range and had felt quite sluggish at times.

Following the tune up I am delighted with the outcome as are others who have been driving the van. It much more driveable and doesn't feel sluggish any more.

Chris at dynatune was happy to spend time talking on the phone and explaining the technical details and was very flexible when it came to arranging pick up and drop off time for the van. Judging by the reviews on google I'd say others are equally satisfied.

You should give Grant @VES sport performance based in Braco a shout if your thinking of getting your van mapped. Myself and many others that I know that have used him highly recommend. He is a very talented guy and provides a 1st class service.
I noticed straight away how much more drivable my van was with nice smooth power delivery right through the range and when you really need it it is there. After having fun with it and easing off the the loud pedal I did notice it was a bit better on fuel .
