Re: Broken leaf spring
As long as you have a trolley jack and axle stands for safety reasons, and some basic sockets, 18mm, if I recall correctly, its not that hard to do ..... Follow the procedures for axle flip if you can't see how to.

Broken leaf spring
Quick one for you lads might save starting a new thread seeing as OP Dan is sorted, are the leaf springs the same on both mk3s? I’ve a broken spring on my facelift van and could whip one off my mates pre-facelift parts van if they happen to be the same size. Cheers!

Re: Broken leaf spring
shameus, assuming that pre and post facelift leafs are the same (I believe that they are) I would check the PR codes for your van and your friend’s parts van just in case one of the variants of the leaf springs were fitted at the factory, unlikely, but not impossible, As far as I am aware these are the codes that could apply to your van, but you’d be wise to check them yourself:
1BJ - uprated front and rear
1BH - standard 2
2MK - reinforced rear
1BA - standard
A9M - window van basic
A9J - window van comfort
I am not sure if some of these are the same leaf springs. I believe that the uprated front and rear uses the reinforced rear, but I don’t know the difference between standard and standard 2 and which were fitted to the window vans, although I’d guess at basic being one of the standards and comfort being reinforced, but I could be wrong.

Re: Broken leaf spring
@SunEye cheers for that, I’ll try and make sense of it later and see if I can say for definite they’d be the same, although it might be a case of having to take both leafs out and sizing them up

Re: Broken leaf spring
@Boonalon didn’t get round to it yet lad but cheers will let you know. No major panic on it as it’s not actually snapped, it’s just a bit bent in the middle- had van for about 6 months before I realised it was about 1cm lower on one side... leaf must have got a rap from below
