Rear windscreen delete - water hose

Post by Burgerking »

I know this a topic that has been discussed a lot how ever there is very little information on what to do with the water hose?! My mechanic is thinking of cutting the rear pipe near the water tank and cable Tying to the other hose, what’s everyone else done?

I just disconnected the hose from the pump.
It's a simple task once you take the fog light cover/blank off. The pump doesn't leak so there's no loss of screen wash with the hose removed.

That's unfortunate, I've only had that happen once but one activation of the front screen wash solved it.
If you have the rear screen wiper coded out the pump won't ever run to the rear direction again.

I just folded the end of the hose over itself and cable tied it tight. Never caused a problem in the 4 years since I did it.

So just pull out and use front washers ? Not thinking of coding out to be honest.

Would folding over cause strain on the pump? Where did you fold over to ? Does it leak?

Pull the pipe off the wiper motor in the back door, fold an inch of that end of the pipe over, put a couple of cable ties on it, done. You have to double push the right hand stalk to activate the rear washer, it doesn’t really happen by accident so you just don’t use it anymore. It won’t leak.

Can that blank be removed after taking out the wheel arch lining?
