DSG wet or dry??

Post by Riggers82 »

Is the 2.0, 7 Speed, 140bhp DSG box wet or dry cutch? I’ve been told by the dealer it’s wet, but I’m reading conflicting things on here!?

The reason I ask is because I’ve been told to steer clear of the dry clutch by a trusted mechanic... :?

7 speeds are a dry clutch set up. I ran a 3.0 TDI A5 for 2 years on a dsg dry clutch set up on a stage 2 map with no issues. You may need to recalibrate it with wear but in general as a car dealer I’ve not had any issues with them.

Are you sure it is 7 speed box?
2,0 140bhp Caddy have a 6 speed box wet clutch DQ250.
1,6 caddy have a 7 speed dry clutch DQ200.

There is one more box, 7 speed wet clutch DQ500 but it is not fitted in Caddys.
