Re: Cornish Caddy build thread
I thought it was an ex BG van. Crazy that the previous owner spent money painting a van that colour when there’s loads of ex gas vans out there.
I’ll have to give my bonnet another going over......I need to man up and be a bit braver with the cutting compound I think!

It’s a little lighter in colour that the BG ones, I quite like it bow it’s got a shine. Plenty of stone chips to fix etc. The alloys make a huge difference to the look and the drive imo, I’m going to get some side rail covers and get rip of the stupid pipe carrier on the roof, and try to find some touran roof rails.
Picked this gti cluster up today for a tenner, so I’m gonna give them a clean and do some reading about what I need to do to get them in and working hopefully it’s the right part hahaha

Not quite, doc has got me on the right lines I think, waiting for amazon to deliver the tool for taking pins out of a connector then just need to get it coded in. But now I’ve got a cluster from a gti and cruise control stalks to match I might try to make it a one hit job. Are you down in gods country this week? The sun is shining on us for sure!

Ebay taking a beating? Know that feeling!
Did you find someone to help with your clocks? I believe it’s a pain to swap them.

Re: Cornish Caddy build thread
Given that I just went to swap a light fixture over i fee like most things are going to be a pain with this thing haha. I haven’t looked really as yet, I’m kind of stockpiling parts to have a good go at in a week or so. We shall see, after seeing Sean’s van my auto headlight switch arrives in the next couple of days and I’m on the lookout for some half leather half Alcantara seats of the Audi variety. Ffs. So much for being just a work horse . . .

Re: Cornish Caddy build thread
I believe to change the instruments you need to recode the immobiliser which involves some wizardry software and VCDS

VCDS is fantastic and will do your cruise and lots more but I believe you need something more for instruments

Re: Cornish Caddy build thread
So noticed yesterday a cracked mount on the passenger side headlamp. Cue replacement, and all the bulbs worked too!
Then gave the touran carpets I picked up yesterday a good scrub
Then I test fitted the passenger touran base I’m going to look at some half leather a4 seats later so I want to check the fitment etc. I know they’ll fit but just for my peace of mind.
I thought whilst I had the standard seats out I’d give them a go with the baby pressure washer
