Glad you got sorted. Yeah, I was in Namibia. Not much reception out there. I'm still curious why you wanted just the bulb carriers though. You doing some kind of lighting experiment? I got the LHD version for the driver side, so I have 2 reverse lights. I modified the bulb carrier so that it uses the brake light on that side as the fog lamp, and added the missing pin for the reverse light.

I would PM you if I could, but don't have permissions yet.
Sure, you probably have enough posts now for full forum access. The mods are pretty strict about talking about selling items outside of the "for sale" area on the forum, so they'll probably delete any further discussion of the topic here.

Well, I see there’s an SA section.
Ok cool, now I need to know, if anyone has managed to fit a Mk1 2.0 in their caddy? I know it sounds a bit backwards, but the BSF motor is just a pain in the a$$. Already rebuilt one of my caddy’s motors this past week. And don’t feel like laying out that type of money on a 1.6i. Would rather go and put in a 2.0. I know there’s the APK motor, but that requires a whole harness to go with it. Where are as the 2.0 with an MP9 only requires the short harness and decoded box.

As soon as my permissions have changed I will be searching the other threads to have a look.

Don't know anything about that. As Caddy's are Golf 5 era, I expect it would be as hard as putting a Mk1 engine in a Mk5 Golf (probably harder than it's worth).

A 2.0 petrol engine will literally bolt straight onto the gearbox and then possibly engine mountings might have to change.
I don't know how the Caddy's electronics and such would work with the motor, and the MP9 stuff.

On Caddy motor swop stuff: there is apparently someone in Midrand who is fitting a M7 GTI motor and DSG 'box into his Mk4 Caddy. He got a complete rolled and written off Mk7 from a scrapyard and is busy doing the swop.
Been trying to find out who it is and such, but he is very elusive.

I’ve already been looking at the Golf 5 and so forth on the 2.0 front, but the cam sensors are in a different location to the BSF. Spoken to a few guys who said it would be better to get a totaled donor car and taking the harness and everything from there.

Arrived in Cape Town earlier from Port Elizabeth my consumption Is 4.9 doing a steady 120km/h.
Wow what a difference the 6th gear made.
Very impressed.

Touran Dash done and dusted. Must say it takes away the commercial feel of the vehicle and makes it more car like. Loving it. Image

Nice! My next project. How much work was it (and where the hell did you find a Touran dash in SA?!)?

It took about 4 hrs in and out.
I watched this video by Dan Chambers very detailed.

Touran’s are available in SA. All touran dash boards are the same.
Just make sure you get the two side brackets and centre one also make sure you get the ducts that feed the vents.

Thank you!
