Shelf looks good, but would one supporting bracket be sufficient for a small shelf? Or even one of those fold away supports?

Yep One bracket probably would be enough but I know now that if somebody leans on it it shouldn’t come off.

I like the idea. Good as a little table to use for me. In the trade so all the workspace I can get will help. May have to do one myself without the carpet. Don't k ow how lo g it will last lol.

What size *thickness is the back baord ( is it the std mdf stuff ??)

The shelf is just pine and the back board is 6mm ply that I’ve drilled and fitted brackets with nut, bolt n washers so it takes any strain a bit better. Tbf it’s quite strong when fitted

do those brackets keep the shelf held down in place or does it flap around a bit?
