Heater control issues

Post by Crazy7ony »

So, ive fitted seats with loom and wired up as instructed and seats work lovely. I used vcds and ticked the heated seats button to code up all ok. The issue im having is the temp and position dial keeps loosing its last setting, i have to turn them a click or two to get them as i want them.
For example if i leave it on hot....it will forget and go to cold until i click it round.
Any help with this would be great unless i bought a dodgy unit

I don't understand how it will change its position without you adjusting. If you leave it set to full heat or cool, does it move back as though there's something springing it back?

@Doc no the knobs all work fine, if leave it on hot then say turn the fan speed off or get out van the next time i get back in or turn fan speed on it will blow cold even though the heat is still on hot.
I move it 1 click and then it blows hot until next on off cycle.
Are all heated seat panels the same im wondering

Well there are three different types of controls.
Basic, climatic and climatronic.
There are a few variations within each type.
Have you checked for fault codes?
Do you know the part numbers of your original and new climate panels?

Does the new panel have numbers on the temperature dial and your old one didn’t?

Only difference on the front is the ac/max - max/ac is back to front. I'll pop my old one in and test tomorrow and if works i guess look out for another panel to try.

Strange one that.
You may need to calibrate the flap limits of your new panel in vcds?
