Hi all, wasn't sure where was best to post this. I have a 54 plate Caddy, and have an intermittant fault which i think is the torque sensor on the steering rack. On starting the red warning light and buzzer come on and i have no power steering. However, sometimes it won't come on at all, or it will come on but i have steering. It was plugged in a couple of weeks ago, but i cannot rememeber the exact wording that came up on the screen, because it then cleared itself and was fine until yesterday.
My question is, can the sensor be replaced if the rack is taken out, ir is it simply quicker and easier just to find a second hand rack and replace the lot?
Steering rack issue
