Sliding door cover strip ?

Ordered the strip from VW been sprayed will be fitted this week.

Has anyone else changed these ? Is the side door still able to he used ? Looks like it won’t be able to run along it ?

Is this a side rail cover?
If so, yes the door works fine if it's the original VW part you've bought. Those come as standard on the Caddy life and some high spec caddy commercials.

I just had one fitted and the guy who fitted it said that he had glued it down because he would otherwise have had to change the rail as well. It’s secure and it works so I’m happy enough with it.
