Mk4 Bonnet Insulation

Post by Grantek » Sun Sep 13, 2020 9:56 pm

Does VW bonnet insulation cut down engine noise by much, or is there anything else others have done? Also could anyone tell me if 2KO863831A is the right code for Mk4? Had a look online but couldn’t find anything and my local TPS only like part numbers...

Hi mate,
Part number is the right one, as regarding does it help to cut down engine noise, some say it does a little bit. You could always add some more insulation underneath it to help I suppose as long as it is for use in a engine bay.

I found the biggest reduction in noise level was from fitting the insulated engine cover, might be worth trying that if you don’t have one fitted at the moment.

Already got one of them on. Hoping this will make a difference as well but I’m not too confident
