MOT and campers / day vans

Just interested. Obviously a lot of us on here are interested in using vans for going away for weekends / surfing / bike riding etc.

I was just wondering, if your van's a panel Van on DVLA and you have a sofa / bed, maybe a basic sink and cooking facilities. How does this go over with MOT testers? Are they bothered? If you have a sofa will they be looking for seatbelts etc?

Hi buddy I’m a tester there’s a couple of things to look out for regarding seats in the back of vans but unless they were bolted in to the van I personally wouldn’t be looking for belts and cookers and sinks would not be testable items but just have a word with the tester it will be fine

I'm not actually personally looking at putting a sink In but I was interested in that end of things and thought it might be interesting to others who have. I think my plan is to have a removable bed / seat so your info is welcomed. Good to get it from source. Thanks mate.

I had a fresh m.o.t yesterday with my third row life seat and half my bed system in passed no problem
