Weird fuel problem

Post by Harvey11 »

Hello people.
Can anyone offer me some advice?
My 61 plate caddy 1.6 has an annoying problem of keep going into limp mode when I’m driving up a gradual incline. I’ve had the ECU codes read snd it’s showing the fuel pressure dropping to 117 Bar (I think it’s bar) but it also shows the fuel flow through the injectors as being absolutely fine. I’ve had a competent mechanic look at it but he hasn’t got time to take it on.
I need to get this sorted out as I want to mod my van quite heavily (that’s why I’m here) but need a stable base to work from. Otherwise it’s fine, no problems starting or anything.
Alternatively can anyone recommend a decent VDub mechanic in the central beds area? Or is there anyone here I can drive to that wants to earn some money...(not sure I’m allowed to ask that but couldn’t find anything to say I can’t either do apologies if I broke the rules)
Thanks in advance people and Merry Christmas..

Does it do it will a full fuel tank? If not then maybe there a small hole/crack in the pickup in the tank.

Just a thought.

Thanks for your reply, yes it does do it with a full tank. I’m wondering if it’s the high pressure fuel rail. I don’t know really, I’m an electrician so I’m staying in my lane with this one lol..
