I'm sure you can request that any of the VW desired ECU updates are not applied to your vehicle during a service, it's not something that will just automatically happen when the technician plugs your caddy into the VW system.

Be careful to make sure they will not flash any emissions based stuff which they will do without asking. I have had to reflash quite a few that have been in for servicing over the years and they have updated the ecu without asking the customer first and a few that asked them not to but they still have
