For vag cars i think obd eleven is the one to get. Allows you to do a lot more than what the carista can.
I've had both and although a bit more complex to use but once you get used it you will reap the rewards.

Can do all sorts on my car and van.

Yes, I used my obdeleven to code them on my van along with other bits. Brilliant bit of kit that I keep in the van all the time for those just incase moments.
