Eyup, my wifes tdi touran is on its way out. She likes the size of it so was thinking of a petrol one as she only does short runs!! 1.6 or maybe 1.4tsi with dsg? Import? Maybe?? Has any one got one? I have read that the tsi can give some grief and the 1.6 is ok? Any body out there with some real world experience?

1.6 is an old engine and which generation of 1.4 TSI you referring to?

It would be around 2010! Am i right this is the chain driven engine? Then it changed to belt in 2012 ish!

It is EA111 engine, chain driven and they known to have some wear on the chain and tensioner. Also better to avoid twin-charged version.
Replaced with EA211 belt driven engine in 2012.
