Nox P22A7 2016 150bhp 2.0 caddy code
Hi had fault codes P229E and P22A7 recently so replaced the nox sensor 2 but the code P22A7 has reappeared after a 40 min test run. The car drives perfect with around 50 mpg as it did when first codes appeared! Do you need to code in these sensors or is there anything else to check. Wiring and plug seem OK. Any help would be appreciated thanks Ian.

I don't think they need coding in as such but i think you can calibrate them.

Re: Nox P22A7 2016 150bhp 2.0 caddy code
Is it vcds you have?
There's a nox test in basic settings I think, you can also check the blocks to see what the numbers are, if they all read 0 the sensor is still at fault.
Have you recently run it out of adblue by any chance?

Hi, scoobysrt will check the sensor readings tom. Had no adblue warning light and last display I saw was 6000 miles left but I'm I best topping it up ? Would you know to check dpf soot levels does the engine need to running ? I miss the old simple diesels thanks again Ian

Using VCDS, select “Control Module”, then “01-Engine”, “Measuring Blocks” or "Advanced Measuring Blocks".
I think its channel 108 or 241 for Oil Ash Volume, 360 or 365 might also be used.
105 should be # of requested regens.
But I'm going of a vague memory so worth looking up to be sure.

Re: Nox P22A7 2016 150bhp 2.0 caddy code
Hi scoobysrt, there is no nox sensor check in my basic settings just o2 sensor check and reset. My measuring blocks-08 does not light up on my vcds. In advanced measuring values there is no option to check nox sensor 2 just about 15 different nox values which I don't know what to look for. I have a replacement aftermarket sensor coming next week hopefully so will check again then. Just thought with p229e and P22A7 fault codes showing nox sensor 2 faults, replacing it would sort it. However p229e has not come back up yet ! Checked all fuses ok and wiring seems OK. Just need to find colour code of sensor heater live to confirm its getting it. Anyway thanks for your help cheers Ian

No worries, the rosstech forums might give more info if no one else chirps in here.

I think there is a software update for this fault. Get it checked at VW.

Re: Nox P22A7 2016 150bhp 2.0 caddy code
Did you get to the bottom of this?
My 2017 Caddy 2.0TDi is showing the same fault codes:
9569 - NOX Sensor 2 Bank 1
P229E 00 [100] - Electrical malfunction
9570 - NOX Sensor 2 Bank 1
P229E 00 [101] - Electrical malfunction
9880 - Nox Sensor 2 Bank 1: Heating Circuit
P22A7 00 [237] - Implausible signal
The car performs normally - no heavy fuel consumption & no black smoke, no AdBlue warnings.
I don't want to go to the expense of a replacement sensor, if the fault may lie elsewhere.
Thanks in advance

Re: Nox P22A7 2016 150bhp 2.0 caddy code
Hi all I had this happen to my van last year . It was the module that was at fault and they don’t come separate they are one complete unit . The module and NOX sensor come as one . I had to suck it up and replace mines it wasn’t cheap . My van is a 2017 2.0 TDi blue motion . I did try to get it through warranty as my van run out of warranty during lockdown and was unable to get into dealership. The guy at be parts was sound so he gave me I a little discount which softened the blow.

@DHD Let me look out the invoice for it I had my mates garage supply and fit it. But I’m sure there was a break down of cost I’ll come back to you in a bit.

Re: Nox P22A7 2016 150bhp 2.0 caddy code
@DHD mate found the invoice and the part came in at £485.87 I’m sure this includes the vat as the whole bill to supply and fit was £618.04
