New Suspension

Post by kevindoyle »

Hi new to the chat and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lowering kit just fitted to the van and overall happy with the look. The ride seems to be very bouncy in the rear? If I raised the rear suspension as it is at the lowest setting will the help is resolving this? I know there will be change in driving it cause it's lowered but its very bad at the minuate ImageImageImageImage

Hi and welcome to the forum. Looks like you haven't cut the bump stops. You need to cut at least one "doughnut" off.

Hi thanks for the reply. Is it fairly straight forward to do? Should this improve the quality of the ride?

Yes, very straight forward. Jack it up, take the wheels off and cut one doughnut off per side. You may need to cut two off, if you want to go lower. It will allow your suspension to work, at the moment it looks like it sitting on the bump stops.

Definitely cut your bump stops off. I was running mine at -60mm (highest setting on the lowering shackles) and it’ll bottom out and hit the bumps stops. I cut two doughnuts off. Yours looks like it’s slammed so I’d cut off as much bump stop off as you can. Use a wood saw to cut it.
