Hi all,
I’ve got 66 plate 2.0 tdi, I cover about 300 miles a week all town driving. I’m finding my dpf is regen a couple of times a week. Does this sound normal.

Re: DPF Regen
With around town driving that sounds about right.
I'd suggest a run somewhere once per tank of fuel just to keep it cleared out. If the DPF doesn't get to regenerate fully and just continually does partial regenerations, it'll cause a problem in the long term.

Re: DPF Regen
Has it had the VW emissions recall done mate? Before I had mine remapped which got rid of recall map, mine was doing it regularly even with long drives, now it might do it once a month sometimes even less than that. That could be the answer.

Re: DPF Regen
@doc thanks I always let it complete the regen but I’ll make sure I take it for a run too.

@robblowen
Not sure on the emissions recall, I’ve only had this one a couple of months. It’s getting a map and new exhaust next month so that’ll sort that.
Cheers fella

Re: DPF Regen
Does your dpf light come on/flash when the regen is active?
On my 2018 2.0tdi it performs a regen every two weeks or so, no lights on the dash, just holds the revs at 1000rpm & cooling fans run etc.

Mine doesn’t have dpf warning light, just sits at just under 1000rpm fans going

Re: DPF Regen
The fuel treatments are good for helping. I have used the forte one a few times.
