Hi all, go the cambelt done yesterday and all good.
There's another auxiliary belt the same side and it's flapping like a old bird and sound horrendous.
I need a new belt and pulley (tensioner i think with a spring that must be knackered) but not sure what they called to order from carpatsforless....
Help appreciated....

Re: Drive belts
I assume you’re talking about the belt that drives the alternator etc?
If so, I usually refer to it as an auxiliary belt, or I’ve heard people call them a serpentine belt.

Re: Drive belts
Yeah, I think the main variations are engine and a/c or not.

Re: Drive belts
Auxiliary belt, fan belt, serpatine how ever it's spelt belt loads of names.
If it's bouncing round like mental, once it's off, just have a check of the pulley on the alternator. If you spin it one way then stop it dead, the alternator should still spin, the other way should just be solid. Bit hard to explain typing don't know if I am making sense I can't even remember what the name of it's called, been a long week but if it's seized that can cause the belt to bounce around like crazy
