Sliding window for right side sliding door "Norway"

Post by steinsbo81 »

Hello, new here, just bought an '17 Caddy Maxi.
Planning to use it for some overnight stays, the problem is ventilation.
In Norway almost all Caddy is delivered without sliding windows in the back, and almost air tight bulkhead.
I've seen a few post from Norwegians and Swedes, so the question is:
Where do I get a sliding window for my Caddy, and is it difficult to swap an original one?
Found a few in UK and Germany, but doesn't look like they ship to Norway.
And I also wonder if it might be possible to route hot air from the webasto to the back, maybe through the centre console?

Hi,

You have to cut out the old window. Start with a "long knife" along the flat vertical back section, then use a cutting wire to remove the rest of the window. Helps to have 2 people.
Second hand sliders often have damage to the built in drains (2) along the bottom edge.
New they are cheapest from LLLParts.co.uk Lithuania.
The replacement window has to be glued in.
There are videos of removal and replacement on YouTube.
Sucker handles help too !
These guys do cheaper windows though not OEM.

Some people prefer non OEM as some are supposed not to have as many issues with water. Difficult to tell which these windows are as the illustrations show OEM design with rear position opening while most Aftermarket are front position opening.
You would have to check actual design with the company.

These are front opening area

Thank you for the suggestions.
Didn't really find much Caddy related on the LLLParts.co.uk website, might be worth sending an inquiry.
Justcampers didn't send to Norway, and Camperglass was abit pricey postage £74, will get tax on total with shipping also.
Was hoping there was someone closer that had done the conversion and had some tips.

Had another idea. Mounting a fan between the cockpit and the back,
then I could just open the windows abit(have visors) and also get some hot air from the webasto also.
Found this: https://nettbutikk.univa.no/vetus/venti ... te-12-volt
0.15amps and near silent.
Might work. Maybe it requires some kind of vent in the lower part of the chassi.

You can look up your Caddy and find the part number for the windows on www.ilcats.ru
then put the number into www.LLLParts.co.uk search field to get a price
👍

p.s. There are exit air vents in the rear wheel arches.
