Hey guys I’m a brand new member,
After over a year of wanting a caddy I’ve got the money to finally get one. I’d love to get your opinions on a couple things to help me choose the right van for me.
I’ve decided it has to be a 2.0 tdi with low enough miles, so probably 2016 or newer.
First off: long term I would like to put gti interior into the cab, and if it doesn’t have fog lights I’d want to add them as well as the gti styling exterior. Does this mean I have to get a highline? Or would a trendline suffice for future mods?
Secondly: I’ve heard that the 100 and 150 Bhp versions are the exact same engine just tuned different. Is this true? I’d like to eventually make 200 bhp, I’ll probably remap it and change the airfilter and exhaust as well as lower it. But if the 150 has different and stronger parts I’d rather start with that base. Surely there must be other parts different and not just a tune? Or is the transmission the only physical difference?
Finally if there’s anything I should watch out for with the 2.0 tdi please let me know, I’m going to start viewing vans as soon as I figure out what spec I need to get the van where I want it to be!
Thanks so much

I also forgot to mention about blue motion. Should this then avoided or is it irrelevant?

Hi @Doyler2711
Saw this thread above on here
Personally I would go for the Highline version, and a 150, if you can get it around your price range, have you looked at WAV’s ? Prices seem pretty good at the moment, but the ‘Stealers’ will soon catch on

If you’re able, try looking on here using the search engine, but not sure if you have enough posts yet @Doyler2711
There are some gems about in the WAV version, usually very low mileage and well serviced, as I said people are going to catch on to this and the prices will get to the stupid levels they are now for an ordinary Van. Depending what your plans are for yours ? They could be worth a look

Re: 2.0 TDI SPEC confusion?!
With the engines, all the 2.0 from 2016 are the same engine and turbo, it is just a remap. The 150bhp is the only one with a 6spd gearbox, all other have 5spd. I have a 2016 2.0 102bhp 5spd owned from new. It has been remapped to 180bhp since it was a few months old, 180bhp is supposed to be the safe limit of the 5spd. Only thing I've ever had to change was a CV joint at around 120,000km, was it the map or just wear and tear? I don't know. Currently sitting at 140,000km with no issues.

Re: 2.0 TDI SPEC confusion?!
I bought a 2019 2.0 TDI 150 bhp. When I enter it on my forum profile it comes up as a 140 - why ? There is no 150 option
