Lower mirror trims??
Hi all,
Sorry for being dim, though I'm looking online for a. Lower drivers mirror trim and most of the examples say they are for LEFT hand drive only...
Surely they are the same regardless of what side the wheels on???
Any thoughts?
Martyn

Re: Lower mirror trims??
Depends... the newer “life” type mirrors are different.
Give your local VW Commercial parts dept a call, you’ll find they are not more expensive than the likes of eBay or Autodoc. I bought my left hand side mirror from VW, same price as some of the online resellers.

Re: Lower mirror trims??
Just checking, which part are you referring to? The mirrors on the Caddy are different sizes left to right - taller on passenger side (and might be different length as well) - and so a LHD version will be the other way around and so parts from them might not work on RHD version.
These are the covers to illustrate what I mean
and this is an image of LHD caddy

Tha ks for the replies guys..
Bloody hell... I never even noticed that about the mirrors.... Weird
I meant the small section at the bottom with 2 screws through it.... I think I may give VW a ring although they will probably refer me to TPS who apparently are trialling a "trade only" platform... Which is rubbish

I bought a lhs mirror from autodoc and it turned out to be from a euro spec caddy, whuch is lhd. So now I have the same size mirrors on each side.

Did you mean one of these? If so it might be helpful to know it’s the same on a Transporter T5. They shouldn’t be that much from Vw commercial direct or TPS.

Re: Lower mirror trims??
Hi @bigdee181, I actually want to do the same. Did the new EU mirror work fine or did it show any error?

Re: Lower mirror trims??
It pluged in just fine and worked. The only problem is that the angle is for left hand drive vans. So you have to wedge something into the hinge to get the angle right.

Re: Lower mirror trims??
Do you know if it is possible to take out the electronics (or rather everything inside apart from the mirror and housing) from the RHD version and install it inside the LHD version?

Re: Lower mirror trims??
I dont think the insides would make a difference. It is the angle it was made at.

Re: Lower mirror trims??
There is a Mirror Puddle Light fitting thread, in the how to section, with the part numbers of those parts.

Re: Lower mirror trims??
How did you manage to angle (or wedge) it to face closer to the car?
