Hello chaps...
Been thinking about insulating and carpeting the van. I’m just wondering if there’s any problems with condensation using that recycled bottle stuff?
If the vents at the top are going to be carpeted over what stops condensation from forming in the cavity? I know everyone does it but have there been any long term tests/evidence in this? If the outside is hotter than the inside it’s going to sweat surely and there’s nowhere for the moisture to go because the vents are blocked. Or am I talking rubbish??

Re: Insulation and Condensation
I used half a grill off Amazon, sprayed black.
Fixed to the carpet with Velcro.
Needs a mesh if you want a lot of airflow, I expect ... Fit to the back before fitting.

Re: Insulation and Condensation
That looks alright as it goes. My brother in law is a dab hand at 3D printing. I was thinking about asking him if he could make some vents to fit in all the slots at the top. If it was a building you’d never have a substance in the cavity that touched the outside and inside but I don’t know if that adds up to much. Maybe I’ll just cut the carpet out where the slots are and fit some Grommet Strip or something.. I don’t want the van to turn into a rust bucket...

dont suppose you have a link for that grill?
Did it require cutting to fit?

Required to be cut for overall length, and inner wings trimmed to length to fit the hole.
