In the overhead storage compartment of my Caddy Life Mk4, there's a 6" strip of velcro on the centre of the overhead storage shelf, on the inside, running from back to front. Does anyone know what this is for? I was thinking of cutting a piece of wood to wedge between the shelf and roof to stop the shelf from rattling , and I'd use the velcro to secure it. Not sure that was it's intended purpose, so if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.
Cheers,
Welp

Re: Velcro strip in overhead storage
It usually secures a bag containing a can of tyre inflation stuff and a little compressor. The locking wheel nut and other bits for wheel removal are usually in a tray on the lhs of the overhead shelf.

Ah OK Thanks. I've got a spare steel under the car, hence the orphaned velcro. Think I'll use the spare space for beer then
