standard steels on lowered van - looks ok?

Post by hungry monkey »

Got 18" on my van, which has been lowered but not ridiculously so. But fed up of crashy ride and quite like the look (thought?) of running standard 16" steels with thicker rubber for comfort. Won't look too daft will it?

Also, hear me out - my spare wheel is rusty AF, and when I've put it on (when I had a puncture) I thought it looked pretty good... anyone know where I might be able to get 4 really rusty 16" steels in the next couple days?! have found a set on ebay but they're not super rusty :)

Been looking at wheels too, currently have 17 Audi A4 wheels on mine.

Lowering at the weekend so seeing how they sit before changing anything, with the roads around here I need to keep some decent tyre depth to help out..

Quite like steels on vans, painted up they can look pretty good.

The old G60 style in 17s would look great with some spacers

Mighty car mods did a mk3 golf build and tried the different methods to get the rat look. One method I remember was pouring beer on it m  have a watch and see what you think :D

Really rusty might compromise integrity, local scap yards will likely be giving them away.

Someone round here has standard rusty wheels on a van scraping the floor, body work looks OK but the rusty wheels makes it look like a shed imho.
