Handbrake button

Post by Bad666 »

I’ve managed to snap handbrake button off? Along with piece that slots in. Purchased new one because couldn’t find end, didn’t fit. Found old one when upgraded seats, doesn’t go back on? Think I need new handbrake has anyone else done this. And what’s involved in replacing handbrake?

You mean you've broken the plastic button or the actual metal end of the handbrake?

Looks to be the button clean off, but won’t fix back on, neither did an eBay job?

If its the black plastic release button I had the same issue on my previous caddy. Got one off of ebay for about £10.

Yes but I’ve found old one and have one from eBay. Doesn’t clip back on? Maybe I should glue it?

It should click back in to its original housing

Looks like something sheered off in middle.

Is there part of the old button still in there?
Get the cover off it, that'll give you a better look at it.

Just had a look on a caddy.
It definitely looks like you've snapped the end piece off yours.

I've never taken a handbrake lever off the turret, looking at it I don't think it's a viable option.
Won't be difficult to replace the lot but it is a long winded process.

Ahh yeah definitely snapped. Think I’ll try glue first, if fails only one way forward!
Thanks for the advise & picture, put it to bed.
