Rear wheels vibration???

Post by Keith_L »

Hello all,

Just noticing recently that as I'm moving about the house slowly/ in traffic etc., I'm getting a vibration/shuddering
of my rear wheels, It's like the wheels are fighting or struggling against something...
Van has been recently lowered about 3/4 months ago but I didn't have this issue til lately.
Just wondering if anyone might have had same problem?? Brakes have been checked and aren't sticking, handbrake is releasing etc..
All comments welcome, cheers :)

Doesn't sound good buddy, get under it and check the relocation brackets ( I take it you did use a kit rather than and welded/bodged effort?).
If all looks well there heck your wheels for damage, maybe a pothole dent on the inner lip or even a dodgy tyre.

I'd also be suspicious of wheel bearings. Jack it up (securely, not with the supplied widow-maker) and see if you can make the wheel wobble about at all (hold at opposite ends and wiggle the wheel around).

There's not an awful lot that it could be, so just a process of elimination.

Cheers lads, ya Doc,I used the V-Maxx kit.
Really is a head scratcher, all suspension has been checked aswell, as said there I'll check bearings next.

Thanks

are they standard wheels?
could it be an ever so slightly warped disc?

They're 18" VMR wheels Nick, ya I'm starting to think it could be a disc issue.
It's not a major friction but just a shudder/shake, mostly noticeable when taking off, reversing slowly etc.

Cheers lads
