3D printing Caddy bits
I've had a search around and can't seem to find much evidence of people using 3d printers on the forums. Are there any other people with printers out there who have designed or printed something for their van?
Interested to see thoughts or ideas, obviously only for parts which don't bear essential loads! My design skills are limited but I'm thinking printing could be useful for storage, custom hooks etc, neatly mounting LED strips and the like.
There are a few files on thingiverse but most seem to be for changing the size of the cup holders.

I've not ventured into a 3d printer but do have a CNC and Laser at home. Make alot of rings etc for speakers and made a storage solution for my wife's Pug Traveller.

I'm waiting on arrival of some Audi a3 8p vent adaptors off ebay. They make them a plug and play upgrade just one of many things I'm sure could be made to help us modify our Vans

Re: 3D printing Caddy bits
Could always sand it down and paint? This would be really useful

Re: 3D printing Caddy bits
Found a potential problem. Much bigger printer needs to be added to the shopping list!

Re: 3D printing Caddy bits
My printer is big enough for the flap but the finish isn't good enough unless you sand and paint.
If your sanding and painting its quicker and easier to cut a piece of mottled plastic and heat gun to shape or flat alloy and bend to shape.
I had started gearing up to produce flaps for rhd caddys but someone else went/spoke over me and said they were going to produce them so not being bothered about going into competition I stopped on my project.
There is a lengthy thread about it somewhere.

Re: 3D printing Caddy bits
I made the mould, I did a couple of test runs, I geared up to do the hinges then didn't continue.
I'm packing up to move house finally so can't get to any of my stuff right now but will start up again in the near future.
