Picking up a steering wheel tonight from a member, advice req’d
I answered an advert earlier for a steering wheel removed from a caddy and asked if he was a member on here. Turns out he was, it’s @deanh186, so can’t wait to pick it up.
My question is, as this isn’t a MFSW will it need tcoding for the airbag and horn and will I need some kind of sub loom for the airbag wiring?
Caddy is a 56 plate 1.9 and the wheel is shown below.
We also need a members meet page on here

No coding needed, is plug and play.

Anyone know how this airbag comes off? There are no spring holes?

Got the airbag off with some persistence and some sage advice from @Doc and @Gary.8 (cheers guys), I’m not able to swap this out this morning as I’m busy, could anyone tell me if the airbag plug is the same as my 56 caddy plug? Or do I have to swap the sub loom from my airbag.

All done including fitting the stalks.
Whilst it was apart I’ve checked the steering module which is a 1K0-953-549-BB which I’m assuming looking at the Ross-Tech site should be suitable for cruise (?) and the required wire in pin 13 is present in the steering module plug. Fingers crossed once it’s coded I’ll be good to go.
Anyway, here it is.
I’ll need to take a piccy in day light and get this one up for sale. Anyone have an idea of its worth? It’s the same as my Mk5 Golf one. Would it fetch £70 inc the airbag???

Hi Exuptoy,
Your control module 1K0-953-549-BB is a Lowline module and doesn't support cruise control, you'll need to swap it out for a Midline or Highline one suitable for your slip ring and your steering angle sensor, something along the lines of the Midline control modules 1K0-953-549-AF, 1K0-953-549-AH, 1K0-953-549-AP, etc... if you're not planning on upgrading to a MFSW or you'll need to go for a suitable Highline control module.

Is there any point going straight to high line to future proof it or will that negate my fitting cruise stalks? How about the …549-AQ?

If you can get a highline module I'd go for it!
The *AQ module should work just fine.

How about the later SW1111 software like the 549CQ?
The high line ones aren’t cheap are they!

Ah, not sure about that one, someone with more experience might be able to comment?
I kept the SW level the same on mine 0111 to 0111.
I picked mine up from the scapyard, cost me £15 for the SWCM and stalks. Might be worth having a bit of a rummage round your local yard?
