Just wondering, if anyone has fitted a complete strut including the hub from a golf?
Reason for the Q, I have a full set of Stance plus coilovers on my Mk5 golf and would like to swap the struts between the caddy and golf and put my old caddy strut (which has new springs and top mounts on to the golf and get the coilies in to the front of the caddy.
I know the strut is probably 55mm but my thinking is whatever size is on my caddy I could swap the complete assy out including the hub. I know the rears won’t fit but I can just get some cheap standard shocks for the golf and leave the rear spring in place.
They’re only about 4 months old.
Anyone fitted a complete strut from a Mk5 golf?

Why all this hassle? Stance+ only do 50mm struts and use adapter sleeves to fit 55mm hub, so will fit both size hubs. Also, what you gonna do with the Caddy rear? Still gonna need a shackle kit for lowering. Would be better off just to get a Caddy specific Stance+ kit.

It’s ok, didn’t think of the hub incompatibility.
I’m gonna get Stance front and already bought the weld on plates from Retrofication so I’ll still need stance shocks and drop plates. Not gonna go with the full shackle set up as these brackets supposedly save 6kg in weight and I shouldn’t need the relocation plates.
Have I got that right?

Cheers fella. I’ve contacted stance for a part kit of Coilovers, drop plates for the height adjustment and a pair of short shocks.
