Show me your roof racks
I'm in a bit of a tight spot, quite literally. I need a roof rack, or roof bars on which I can easily mount and dismount a basket or storage box, but I have 80mm clearance between the roof and the garage door.
Does anyone have some low profile roof bars or something like the Rhino Rack Backbone system.
Might need to be a custom job???

Yeah it's annoying, I actually want to raise the van. I'd dig the floor out but the landlord might not approve haha!

Re: Show me your roof racks
Here ya go…
Standard aftermarket rails with flush fitting aero bars, can’t remember the make I’m afraid.
Front from the high point on the roof
Rear, again from the high point
Add another 10mm for the knuckles on the connectors at the sides.

Re: Show me your roof racks
I can get a measure of mine but wont be till 6 when I finish work but they look the same as c chis' , they were from vanstyle, haven't used the cross rails yet so cant comment on them. And sorry to ask an unrelated question but is that the 60mm eibach kit form TDC @Bad666?

DST low profile, same as VanStyle but cheaper (probably).

Re: Show me your roof racks
I have the same low profile rack from vanstyle. I would recommend them however you have to consider what you'll be using them for, they aren't rated for carrying a heavy load. I just use mine for transporting surfboards. I have been considering getting a bike mount for the roof rack but I don't know if I'd trust this rack going down the motorway at 70/80 mph with the mountain bike on the roof.
Onto caddy number 2. 2011 caddy in metallic blue. Early days of getting this one to my standard.

Re: Show me your roof racks
@ambitious_converter
Ahh cheers for that. Nah it would'nt be anything too heavy, thinking of something like a long pelican case type box for some extra storage, or a basket we can throw some extra gear in when travelling.
Can you tell me how they are fitted? Do they pick up the 4 bolts on the roof externally, or is there anything required from inside!
Cheers
Just had a look on vanstyle website and they are on back order.

Re: Show me your roof racks
Just bolt through the feet of the roof rails into the existing holes in the roof buddy that's all
