What did you do to your van today?

Used some old bike gear cable to fish the plates for the seat belts in the rear up through the body work worked a treat. Will rivet them in place on Monday

Nice job. Where did you get the seat belt anchor/load spreader thing?

Just cut a piece of 50mm wide, 6mm thick plate to length, drilled a hole in it then welded a nut with the same thread as the seat belt bolt to the back of it, drilled holes either side to rivet it in place so I can unbolt it without the plate falling down. Found a good spot to do the bottom one I think too. Will take photos of that when I've done it, probably next week or the week after that'll be though

@exupoty I used these . A bit awkward to fish up into place but once you have them there I nipped the bolt tight to them then used some small self tapping screws to hold them in place

@Jono1 so I assume it’s 2 x plates per belt? Nice find btw.

The fact I have carpeted the walls gives me another headache but I’m sure I can manage. Cheers guys.

Yeah I used one for the reel one for the top mount

And then just a standard spreader plate with a nut with nylon washer and a bolt for the bottom mount

My rear seat conversion has been semi complete for a while apart from the seat belt reels. Haha What seatbelts have you used mate and how did you mount them? Any pics?

I have a full set of Touran ones.

I’ll be on with the insulation and carpeting once I get them reels in.

@Cabbs I got a set from a maxi life along with the maxi life seats as I wanted the 3 proper belts in the back. My wife's touran expired and I stripped it out but didn't like the options for middle seat.

The lower mounts I drilled and there was already a strengthening plate in the floor. I then decided to come up from under the van with another spreader plate to bolt into. Didn't take any pics tho sorry, too many swear words and pending rain to take any

The mounting of the top and the bottom I’ve done. It was just mounting the reels themselves. The Touran belts don’t quite fit in them recesses where there ment to go. I know there’s people who have fitted them but no pics.

@Cabbs the reels are outside on mine like the maxi life etc. Couldn't be bothered with the cutting to get them into the recess.

I put mine into the recesses, did it a couple of weeks ago. Took me around an hour per side. Had to grind some of the plastic reel housing off. I can take photos of that if you like. Mine is a maxi, don't know if that's any different to an SWB
