I ordered it when it was only a splice option and asked for it to have the plugs made, they never asked for any extra $$ and I don’t have the asr button on my mk4 1.4tsi either. It worked fine so I’m not sure why they say that. I reckon they will make a fortune selling them to all vw drivers!petrev wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 3:22 pm
Absolutely great mod. I did mine with a splice-in parallel kit.
Cheaper, but not as easy as the plug and play version you found.
Edit: Just checked and I would still have to use the splice version as I have a Mk4 with no ASR button.
Must be using a different plug ?! Or something.
This is the Splice version

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Yes, they can easily do it, just need the MK4 plugs.
Good they didn't charge extra.
Such a great mod, and a great implementation with the service mode.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Fitted my Autowatch CANbus alarm system.
Found out my BCM seems to have died after VCDS was unable to communicate with it (even with all the doors unlocked and even open), which would tie in with some issues I've recently been having . Indicators pulsing intermittently and sometimes on solid for a few seconds, instrument cluster back light randomly turning on and off and generally being a bit weird. Plus possibly the long standing issue with my horn not working. So ordered a new one try changing it out see what happens.

Nothing ground breaking, new ply lining kit followed by a rear wiper delete plug that I sprayed up

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Fitted Golf R seats on touran bases.
After trying to work out what I would do about the airbags and seat belt lights I thought best just to take a seat out and go from there……took the seat out….no airbags no seat belt wiring only had the van 7 years so still learning about it! (The seat covers I put on had ‘airbag’ labels..doh)
Really easy job from that point on
Just one thing I’d say, with having the bulkhead in the passenger seat room is a little shorter as the golf seats are a bit longer than the standard ones, doesn’t make any difference to me though

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Continued and failed to sort my central locking issues on the back door and side door so enquired with a local auto electrician to quote me. After changing the injector I am going to run some miles to see the van calms down and runs more evenly as it learns the new injector fuelling.
