Q5 sline seats installed. Gen 1. Had heating from factory, only needed to rewire to seats and add power for lumbar.

Have not figured out how to easily upload pics yet.

Installation was pita; rails bigger than caddy seats. Drilled 3 new holes in caddy base and cut two parts of each rail. Heating wiring was tricky to get right, as no one share diagrams. Did not buy a loom, but got it working.

I'm after some aluminium pedals for a dsg. Will mk5 golf gti pedals fit? If not, what will?

Is your accelerator pedal like this because there are two types? If so the section you press slides off the base and will slide onto your base.
MK5 and Mk6 Gti are the same.

These are on eBay as a set.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'slides off the base' but that looks the same set up as what I have

Spent a few hours hacking at a Touran floor so I have the requisite metalwork to install the seats. Oh, and it’s in reflex Silver 😂

So the base of the GTI pedal is different to the caddy and won’t fit in the floor the same. The base being the rear section of the pedal. The aluminium section at the front slides off the base sideways. There is a clip at the back you need to release for it to slide off. You will then slide off the one on your caddy pedal and slide on the aluminium one.

Pretty sure there’s an “how to” on this pal.
The brake pedal is literally a cover which will clip onto your pedal.

We went a picked up a Touran (for all the normal retrofits) for £800 in pretty ok condition with no Mot and all that’s wrong is an ABS light. Feels a shame to rip it to pieces but it’s all for the greater good 😉 she’ll be fit for the scrappy when I’m finished with her!

Rough costs...

Hydro-Vator hydrographic activator ~ £12
Carbon fibre effect film ~14 for 50cm x 200cm
Large plastic tub from The Range ~£10 - for the dipping.

You'll need to budget for the prep and the base coat too
