Seen Ed China do something similar. But it works real well. I think Ed refers to it as back street engineering.

Nice quick and cheap job done on mine today. Dust caps with the VW logo on them. The key ring bit is supposed to be a tool to help remove the caps

Image

Just seen the VW on the centre cap doesn't quite line up with the spokes on the wheels. Gotta move the cap round a bit tomorrow.

Be very careful with alloy valve caps, make sure you add some grease on the threads or they'll end up corroded on and rock solid.

Thanks for the advice Doc, I've got some grease ready for the caps and the spare wheel bolts. I guess that's why they include the tool thing to help remove the caps.

MattMan wrote: What did you use to remove the bushings out the chassis? These are the last two on my van i need to replace, was thinking about burning them out as i haven't got any sockets big enough to push the old ones out into. Cheers
The easiest way i foind were to run a 8mm drill bit aroind the ribber to break it down then soak penetratring spray and a case of patience knocking out with hammer and chisel Image
